Biography

Brigitte Kahl, a native of East Germany and ordained minister, studied and taught at Humboldt University in Berlin before joining the Faculty of Union Theological Seminary in New York as a Professor of New Testament in 1998. Her much acclaimed Galatians Re-Imagined: Reading with the Eyes of the Vanquished (Minneapolis: Augsburg Fortress Press, 2010) redefines the traditional paradigm of Pauline interpretation through an empire-critical/postcolonial and eco-feminist lens, recasting justification by faith as a theology of resistance and transformation.
